The Hero's Journey

The Call ~ Many refuse the call to adventure... they flounder and begin to die inside. But the call will keep coming, until at last, they awaken and answer. Events sweep us into motion. We drift along the river of life with no real direction until we find ourselves headed into the rapids and we finally realize it's time to start paddling or die. At last we are forced to undertake The Hero's Journey.

About Me

The Hero's Journey: By 1981 we had become disillusioned with our lifestyle: regular 9 to 5 jobs, house and car payments, living from paycheck to paycheck, always looking forward to the weekends to catch our breath, etc. As a result, we quit our jobs, and moved to the North Fork of the American River, camped out in a tent and mined for gold over the next 7 years. That was just the beginning.
